Ways of seeing is a documentary which was was in 1972. It teaches us to view paintings as we, or most people have ever seen them before. The documentary is narrated by John Berger and it focuses on the artistic side to photography. There are many different ways in which we can view a picture and John Berger shows us a fresh perception. He explains how the invention of the camera not only changed what we were able to see, but more importantly it changed how we see the world. It gave us the ability to see one side of the world one minute and the opposite side the next minute. The documentary also highlighted how we are now able to view one single photo in millions of different places at one, we no longer have to travel in order to view an image. Frequently throughout the documentary Berger refers to the camera as a "messenger of images." It is a very comprehensive documentary, both an interesting and informational story teller of the camera, and art and how today they go hand in hand to portray images in multiple ways.

A. Gregory Crewdson works on his set for photography, as if it were a film set. His sets usually feature actors and producers. He has an entire production whom work within the film industry. His aim is to create one perfect moment as supposed to a full feature length movie. He also never holds the camera, as he says he has a strange disconnection with photography, he is more interested in the image itself.

The Lift by Marc Isaacs
The Lift was a short and very simple film created by Marc Isaacs. The only placement in the film was the lift from an apartment block giving us the feeling of being a fly on the wall looking into lives of people we would never have seen otherwise. We the viewer never got to leave the lift. The characters in the short were the people whom lived in the apartment block. The film was quite humorous and also touching story about the inhabitants living in London city. A lot of the themes that are touched upon in the film are normal themes that we would see in our own daily lives. A number of feelings and emotions are touched while watching the film. One person getting into the lift making the audience laugh, and another making us feel sad and sympathetic. Marc Isaac's The Lift is a nice little short story that portrays everyday lives of the residence of the apartment block.
